An article about SQALE describes an approach to measuring quality metrics and reporting them. This article explains how important is a good measuring approach. The article (in French) is available on-line.
Surprisingly, this approach is very similar in form and content to the SQUALE approach (note the "U"), partly developed by Fabrice Bellingard of QUALIXO, France, since 2008. Beware of using the right one!
Anyhow, such approaches are comforted by a recent article in IST about the (positive) impact of a measurement program on software quality.
