4. Workshop Format and Organization

The workshop program will be a half-day event. It will be run as a working event to facilitate discussions and the dissemination of new ideas. Prior to the workshop, participants will be required to read other participants’ submissions and to answer two to three questions devised by the program committee on the relation of their submission with other submissions.

A participant (possibly a program committee member) will be responsible for summarizing all the presentations in one consistent whole and to relate questions and open issues with one another. The goal of this summary will be to inform the participants of what each other’s views and perspectives are on the topic of design patterns.

The first session will start with one- to two-minute introductions of the participants, followed by short summary presentations (about five minutes) of practical experiences considered relevant by each participant. Participants will be asked to list (up to) three main points and a fundamental question/issue to help stimulate the discussions.

The second session will be devoted to open discussion to address the questions and problems posed by the participants. A working document will be created to chronicle the discussion and findings.
